Qi Han joined the department in 2005. She founded and currently directs the Pervasive Computing Systems (PeCS) research group. The mission of her research is to design algorithms, develop techniques, and build systems to enable pervasive and mobile computing applications. Her interests range from algorithms to systems, from design and experimentation to deployment and applications. As of October 2016, she has published over 100 papers in prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, and IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, and selective conferences such as IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE PerCOM. These articles have been cited more than 2000 times per Google Scholar. Dr. Han has received multiple grants from the National Science Foundation. She also collaborates internationally with Northwestern Polytechnic University in China, CSIRO in Australia, and Chinese Academy of Sciences.
